Facilities for All (UK) Ltd was formed in 2012, and was the brainchild of owner and Managing Director, Darren Norwood. Darren had worked in Sports Development for the previous 7 years and saw the potential of what schools could offer to their communities beyond the end of the school day, it was just a matter of getting them opened up.
Our community lettings programme began in September 2012 with our first school, Netherthorpe School, who had just benefitted from a new building under the Building School for the Future (BSF) programme.
During 2013, we commenced work with a further 4 schools, first was the brand new £27m state of the art building at Shirebrook Academy and where our Head Office is now based. Then working with Interserve and Amber Infrastructure, we signed an agreement to manage 3 PFI schools within Derbyshire, Newbold School (now Outwood Academy – Newbold), The Long Eaton School and Tupton Hall School.
At the start of 2014, we agreed contracts with a further 2 schools; The Meadows Schools (now Whittington Green School) and Tibshelf School, who had just moved into a brand new purpose built school.
In January 2016, we moved a little further afield to the Calderdale area, once again working with Interserve, we agreed to manage Halifax Academy, Park Lane Learning Trust and Sowerby Bridge High School.
Our latest addition and eleventh community lettings venue is Frederick Gent School in South Normanton, commencing January 2017.
We continue to work with all of our schools and have long-term agreements in place, showing that our partnerships with these schools get stronger over time and that we are committed to the communities in which we work.
We are currently in discussions with other schools and the possibility of them working with Facilities for All (UK) Ltd in the future. Any new schools will be featured on our website.
